Bell to Bell Cellphone Ban

New York State signed into law a ban on all cell phones and other internet-capable devices in schools. This ban will take effect this September. We’d like to share an overview of the law and what the expectations will be for all of our students in September.

August 14, 2025

Dear Wappingers CSD Community,
As we prepare for the first day of classes on Thursday, September 4th, I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to the faculty, staff, and students who took part in our Extended School Year program and other summer learning activities in July and August. These vital  programs help prepare our students for the upcoming school year, and we are very proud to have served over 1300 students.

Over the next couple of weeks, our families will receive building-specific information from their school administrators, and I encourage you to contact them with any questions that pertain to your specific school.

Here at the District office, we are continuing our preparations for the upcoming year. We work as a team, with one common goal: offering a safe school environment where all students have the support and programs they need and deserve.

As we plan the recently-approved capital improvement projects, we will make sure it is done carefully–and collaboratively. Please email me with any thoughts or comments; I want to hear from you. We look forward to providing services and amenities that will benefit our students, faculty and community!

But even as we work on today’s projects, we are turning our attention to the future: this year, we will begin developing a new Strategic Plan, with a focus on how we can best serve our staff and students in the years to come.

We are excited to kick off another fantastic year! We look forward to welcoming our nearly 10,500 students to our 15 schools on Thursday, September 4 and greatly appreciate the community’s ongoing support.
