Overview
Language Development Instruction:
ENL teachers provide specialized instruction in English language development, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Instruction is aligned with both state standards and English proficiency guidelines.
Assessment and Placement:
The department is responsible for assessing the English proficiency of incoming students and placing them in appropriate levels of support. This includes regular monitoring of students’ progress and adjusting services as needed.
Cultural Support:
The department often helps bridge cultural differences, assisting students in adjusting to their new academic and social environments. This includes celebrating diversity and providing a culturally responsive curriculum.
Family and Community Engagement:
