What is an AP Course?
Advanced Placement (AP) Courses gives students the chance to tackle college-level work while they're still in high school—whether they're learning online or in the classroom. And through taking AP Exams, students can earn college credit and placement.
Taking AP Exams:
Students enrolled in AP courses are encouraged to take the AP exams that are associated with the courses. AP courses are weighted as 1.10 compared to the regular subject area course (Honors courses are weighted as 1.05) which becomes part of a students 'Weighted GPA' as well as their 'Weight Class Rank'.
As part of their course experience students will have the ability to explore resources in the Collegeboard's AP Classroom.
