ParentSquare: Emails/Calls/Texts From District

Wappingers CSD uses ParentSquare to communicate regarding attendance, delays and closings, upcoming events, building- or district-wide emergencies, and more. Soon after registering a child in the district, you’ll receive an invitation to activate your account, and you may customize your notifications and add more contact details at any time.
You will automatically receive notifications based on the contact information you provided when you registered your child. By default, the parent/guardian listed as the primary on your child's student record will receive text notifications as long as you provide a cell phone number.

Forgot Password?
Our Help Desk can’t recover or reset passwords in this system, but you can click the “forgot Password” link on the Parent Square login page. You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft, as long as the email matches the one you provided at registration.

Welcome! We're excited to help you get connected. ParentSquare is your school's central hub for all communications, serving as a safe and secure platform to strengthen the connection between school and home. From district-wide alerts and attendance notices to classroom updates and event RSVPs, everything you need to stay informed will now be in one place.
Now that you know what it's for, let's get your account activated.
1. Activating Your Account: A Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Your school sent an invitation to the email address or phone number they have on file for you. Once you receive it, follow these simple steps to get set up.
- Open the Invitation: Find the invitation in your email or text messages.
- Activate Your Account: Click the link that says "Activate your account". This will take you to the registration page.
- Create Your Password: You will be prompted to create a password for your account. Once you've chosen one, click Register.
- Confirm Your Contact Details: The system will show the email and/or phone number your school has on file. Click Confirm to verify, then enter the verification code that is sent to you.
- Confirm Your Child(ren): You will see a list of the children associated with your contact information. Confirm each of your children by clicking Confirm. If a child is listed who is not associated with your account, select Not My Child.
- Finalize: Once you have confirmed your information and your children, click "Yes, this is me" to complete the activation process. You're all set!
Activation is the biggest step—congratulations! If you didn't receive an invitation, don't worry; here’s what to do next.

If you can't find an invitation, you can still try to register using the contact information your school should already have.
1. Try to Sign Up Manually: Go to ParentSquare on a web browser or open the ParentSquare mobile app. Enter the email address or phone number that your school has on file and follow the prompts to create an account.

You can access ParentSquare on any computer, tablet, or smartphone. To get the most out of ParentSquare, we highly recommend downloading the free mobile app. The app helps you stay connected on the go, ensuring you never miss an important message, alert, or update.

2. Managing Notification Settings
You are in control of how you receive notifications, which can be delivered via email, text messages, or through the mobile app.
- Access on Web Browser: Click your name in the top right corner, select My Account, then choose Notification Settings.
- Access on Mobile App: In the menu bar (often the triple bar icon) in the top left corner, click Account, then choose Notifications.
- You can choose your preferred notification frequency:
- Instant: Sends all post notifications in real-time.
- Digest: Sends all posts for the day in one single summary at the end of the day (this setting is generally recommended).
Note: Direct messages, urgent alerts, and time-sensitive posts are always delivered instantly, regardless of your setting.
3. Updating Language Preferences
ParentSquare can automatically translate messages into your preferred language.
- Access on Web Browser: On your home page, click your name, select My Account, then choose Language Settings.
- Access on Mobile App: From your home screen, click the triple bar, then Account, then Preferences, and finally Language.
- Select your preferred language and save your changes
4. Navigating ParentSquare Features
Once logged in, you will see your custom ParentSquare feed, which displays all information related to your children without needing to search multiple websites. Key features are typically accessed via the sidebar or links within the feed:

4. Interacting with Posts
ParentSquare allows you to interact in a variety of ways with the posts shared by teachers to further enhance communication and engagement.
- Appreciate Posts: Parents can show support and thank a teacher or staff member for a post by clicking 'Appreciate'. Teachers appreciate this gesture.
- Comment or Reply: Parents can click 'Comment' within the app or on the website to privately ask a question about the specific post sent by their teacher or school.
Beyond general posts, ParentSquare also facilitates other forms of interactive communication, such as:
- Participate in Sign-ups: Parents can participate by filling out forms quickly (eliminating the need for physical handouts and permission slips), or signing up to bring in an item or RSVP for an event.
5. Troubleshooting and Getting Help
Wrong Name, Phone, Email, or Missing Child
Contact your child’s school to confirm and update their official records. Changes generally reflect automatically in ParentSquare within 24 hours or the next working day after the school updates the SIS.
Cannot Log In
If your details aren't recognized, your contact information is likely not showing or matching the school database. Contact parent.portal@wcsdny.org
Need to Combine Accounts (for parents only)
If you have multiple ParentSquare accounts, log into your main account, click your name, select My Account, and click Combine with another account.
