A Message from the Superintendent
May 19, 2026
Dear Wappingers CSD Community,
I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our community for supporting our two propositions: the 2026-27 Budget and the 2026-27 Bus Purchase. The approval of the 2026-27 Budget will enable us to continue to provide the services and programs our students need and deserve, with a continued emphasis on school safety, mental health services, special education, career and technical education, and the expansion of Universal Pre-K. The approval of our Bus Purchase Proposition allows us to purchase 15 gas and diesel powered vehicles, which increases the amount of in-district bussing available, and moves us closer to our eventual goal of being able to provide all student transportation by WCSD staff in a safe, effective, and efficient manner!
In closing, we will continue to work diligently in providing a positive school environment, inclusive of all of our students and staff, that is safe, supportive, and promotes the highest degree of academic, social, and emotional development, while offering our students an array of opportunities to prepare them for the future and providing necessary and key supports when needed. We look forward to continuing our work together in collaboration with all stakeholders throughout the Wappingers CSD, as we focus on today and plan for tomorrow!
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Dwight Bonk
Superintendent of Schools
