A recap of events and accomplishments in our schools.

Welcome to the Wappingers Central School District!

Our Mission:

To empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.

Dear Wappingers CSD Community,

I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our community for supporting our three propositions: the 2025-26 Budget, District-wide Capital Improvement Project, and Bus Purchase. The approval of the 2025-26 Budget will enable us to continue to provide the services and programs our students need and deserve, with a continued emphasis on school safety, mental health services, special education, career and technical education, and the expansion of Universal Pre-K.

The passage of the Capital Improvement Project will allow us to better serve ALL students, in so many areas: reducing capacity issues at our elementary schools; adding more specialized and targeted instructional and extracurricular opportunities; shifting the middle-school experience from two to three years with an expanded curriculum; and providing much-needed improvements at all of our 15 schools.

The Bus Purchase Proposition allows us to purchase additional vehicles, which allows us to continue toward our goal of having all student transportation provided by in-District buses.

In closing, our mission is clear: provide students and staff with a safe, robust learning environment, offer them as many opportunities as possible to prepare them for the future, and continue to provide support when necessary. We look forward to continuing our work: striving for the best service to our school community, and building our future together!

With sincere gratitude,

Dr. Dwight Bonk
Superintendent of Schools
