• Dear John Jay Community:

It is with a tremendous feeling of enthusiasm I begin my first year at John Jay. As the Assistant Principal and the administrator in charge of the 9th Grade, my goal is to foster an environment of inclusion and accountability. I have been an educator for fifteen years and I appreciate the opportunity to work with the staff and the community to create a school climate befitting such a high achieving establishment. It is my promise to work tirelessly to see that your child feels welcome, is treated with respect and gets the most out of their high school experience.
Every student should feel engaged in the school community, and I will work to make a positive impact on all our students and their families. High School is a time for our students to come of age and find their passions, it is my sincere hope to help them find their passion and direction.

I would like to finish by sharing just a bit about me personally. I am the father of two little girls. My wife and I enjoy the outdoors and fostering an appreciation of nature in our children. I was born and raised in Valhalla, NY. I graduated from SUNY Purchase with a degree in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Political Science. I went on to earn two Master Degrees from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Lastly, I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful school and town community. I look forward to the year ahead. My door is always open to all who have questions or concerns. I am excited to begin the work that will culminate in the successful four years and graduation of the class of 2023.

    Very Sincerely,

    Assistant Principal

    Jason Gelardi
