Free and reduced-price meals are available to students unable to pay the full price of meals according to criteria based on household size and income. Applications for free and reduced price meals are sent home with students on the first day of school, and or are available in your child's main office, the Food Service Office, or can be printed through the link below. If you receive food stamps or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), you may receive a Direct Certification letter in August from the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. A completed application OR the Direct Certification letter can be returned to your school's main office or teacher, given to the kitchen staff' or mailed to the Food Service Office, at RCK Annex, 99 Myers Corners Road, Wappingers Falls, N.Y.  12590.

A new application (only one Free or Reduced Lunch application is required per family) must be completed every school year. You will receive notification of status by mail within 10 days of receipt of application or direct certification. Students who participated in the free or reduced lunch program may eat on last year’s free or reduced status through October 19th  or until a new lunch application is approved or a direct certification letter is received. Failure to renew applications before the deadline will result in students being removed from the eligibility roster.

Please note that students on paid status are responsible for the cost of the meals while applications are being processed. Students on the free or reduced lunch program must use their personal identification number at the cash register and select a reimbursable meal which is described in the FAQ's section under what makes up a school meal. Snacks may be purchased by cash or by depositing money in their account. The menu which is available on the web site or sent home by your child’s school will show you what is available at your child's school.
