    Dear Parents and Guardians,

The school year is moving along very nicely. Your children are enjoying being back in school with their friends. We have many students participating in clubs and sports. There is also renewed enthusiasm in a number of other school-related activities sponsored by our SGA, faculty and staff. I would like to thank our coaches, club advisors, faculty, and staff for their continued hard work and leadership.

The participation rate last Friday among students and staff dressing up in costumes was encouraging. The smiles on everyone’s faces spoke volumes as to how they were feeling. We have many more additional events lined up for students this school year.

Our Chromebook integration program is moving along nicely. Teachers are utilizing these valuable devices on a regular basis. Along with increased Chromebook use is the importance of students bringing them to school fully charged each day. We have a limited supply of loaner Chromebooks on hand to issue students on a daily basis and these are generally reserved exclusively for those who have devices out for repair. Additionally, we do not have the manpower to distribute, collect, and inventory loaner Chromebooks on a daily basis. Therefore, please remind your children to bring their Chromebooks to school each day without exception as they would any other important instructional supply item.

The first marking period ends on Friday, November 5. Children will be moving to their second quarter exploratory classes beginning Monday, November 8. Your children’s 1st period teachers will have another set of schedules to distribute on Friday that reflect these changes.

In closing, thank you as always for your continued support.

    Dr. Steven H. Shuchat, Principal
