August 12, 2022
Dear Parent or Guardian,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new School Resource Officer (SRO) and new School Safety Officer (SSO). Both individuals will play key roles in the safety and security of our school.
Dennis Mulaney will assume the role of SRO. Dennis is a seasoned veteran with the East Fishkill Police Department who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.
Robert Schumacher will assume the role of SSO. Robert is a retired East Fishkill police officer and active in sports in the community. He also brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to the position.
We are fortunate to have both Dennis and Robert as members of our school community working diligently to protect our children, faculty, and staff. Administration will be working closely with Dennis and Robert to enhance the learning environment.
As a reminder, student schedules will be available on Parent Portal beginning August 29. We ask that 7th and new 8th grade students bring copies of their schedules to the orientation. Once you know your child's team you can look up their specific supply requirements.
Keep in mind that backpacks are not allowed to be used during the school day and must be placed in lockers before reporting to first period class. Travel light during the first few days of school by bringing a pen or pencil, notebook, paper, or pad. Your child's teachers will provide more specific information when they meet on the first two days of school.
Seventh graders will receive their chromebooks following each session of the orientation. Information will follow regarding new 8th graders receiving their chromebooks. During your self-guided tour of the school, please stop by the gymnasium to sign out your child's chromebook. Official parent ID is required. There will be additional opportunities for parents and students to sign out chromebooks who are unable to make the orientation. I will be back in touch with more information at the appropriate time.
For now, best wishes for the remainder of your summer.
Respectfully,
Dr. Steven H Shuchat
