Mrs. Kaprinski holds Masters Degrees in both Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from PACE University. Prior to obtaining those degrees, she received a BA in English from Siena College, with certification to instruct Grades 5-12. She also completed all necessary requirements for K-12 Reading Certification, and served as a Reading Specialist in Westchester County as well.
Currently, Mrs. Kaprinski is the President of the New York State English Council, an organization which provides quality professional development for English Teachers across New York State. She enjoys working with other board members who have had long-standing careers in education, either as English teachers or as building and district leaders.
Other volunteer work includes serving on the board of the Lower Hudson Council Administrative Women in Education organization, where she assumes the role of Co-Director of Program and Career Development. She is also a member of the local chapter, (Alpha Zeta), of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for educational leaders.
Mrs. Kaprinski resides in Pawling, NY with her husband, Mike and daughter, Emily who are both avid lovers of lacrosse, soccer and fishing.
Proud to have begun her 20th year in education at Van Wyck last summer, Mrs. Kaprinski looks forward to her second year of partnering with Dr. Shuchat, Mr. Siena and a very hardworking staff and community, where she can ensure not only that students receive a purposeful, engaging educational program, but also the support needed to maximize their personal and social development.
