Students who attend school in New York State must be immunized against polio, mumps, diphtheria, whooping cough (pertussis), measles, rubella and Hepatitis B (now required of all students entering Kindergarten). Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) and a second varicella is required for all 6th graders. Menningococcal is required for 7th and 12th grade.
No student will be admitted to school without appropriate certification of the above immunizations. Exemption to the immunization law is allowed for medical reasons only.
