• Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are all doing well during this unprecedented time.

I am Ms. Gehlert and this is my 23rd year teaching Health Education. I love working with young people (I have six children of my own) and teaching is truly a passion. Outside of school, I am active in Girl Scouts and with the Down Syndrome Association of the Hudson Valley.

We are moving forward with “distance” learning/online learning for Health class. As everyone acclimates to this process of learning and teaching, it will require some patience, flexibility and understanding from all parties.  It may become necessary to modify assignments and/or due dates, as I assess how the online learning is progressing or due to directives beyond my control.  The most current information will be on Google Classroom.

Everyday there is a check-in on Google Classroom for all students. Please be diligent about checking in, as it will be utlized for attendance purposes. While you are on Classroom, check out (and do!) the lesson or assignment for that day.

Regarding grading, the details will be included in the syllabus, but on Google Classroom you will be able to see the assignments that have been turned in and graded. In addition, parents can sign up for daily or weekly grade notifications through Google Classroom. I recommend keeping current with lessons, as the quarter will progress quickly. Assignments have due dates, but if there are issues with getting the work completed in a timely manner, please reach out.

I can be contacted at (and any Google format shared at) tammy.gehlert@wcsdny.org .

    Stay safe and stay healthy!
