Welcome to the Wappingers Central School DistrictStudent Support Services & Accessible Education Department
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The Student Support Services & Accessible Education Department is committed to developing and implementing programs to meet the needs of diverse learners. The Special Education department provides support and services to school-aged and preschool students identified as having an educational disability.- The department is overseen by the Director of Special Education and the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services & Accessible Education.
- Each school (including out-of-district placements) is assigned an Assistant Director of Special Education or CSE Chairperson who helps to facilitate student programs and the development of Individualized Education Plan.
- Staff includes teachers, school psychologists, guidance counselors, school social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and nurses.
The Mission of the Wappingers Central School District is to empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.
