Student Support Services & Accessible Education Department
The Student Support Services & Accessible Education Department is committed to developing and implementing programs to meet the needs of diverse learners. The Special Education department provides support and services to school-aged and preschool students identified as having an educational disability.
- The department is overseen by the Director of Special Education and the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services & Accessible Education.
- Each school (including out-of-district placements) is assigned an Assistant Director of Special Education or CSE Chairperson who helps to facilitate student programs and the development of Individualized Education Plan.
- Staff includes teachers, school psychologists, guidance counselors, school social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and nurses.
