7th Grade Music ProjectEach student is required to create a music project for 7th grade general music. All projects will include a short presentation (1-2 minutes) to the class. You should prepare an index card/cards and include why you chose to do your project. You may not read directly from your project. You may choose from one of the following:
1. Make a homemade instrument/model- choose an instrument and create your own model. You should decorate/paint your model. Be creative! You must explain what materials you used and how you created your instrument. You must also research your instrument and discuss its origin and history.
2. Create a music video-you may choose images and set them to music or film an original music video set to music. Your song must be approved by Ms. G before you begin your project. You can make a Power Point presentation or use programs such as “Windows Movie Maker.” You must explain what program you used and the steps you took to create your project.
3. Create a poster reflecting a composer/artist/group-research a composer, artist, or music group and create a poster reflecting their career. Your poster must be on poster board or poster paper and must contain pictures. You should include birthdates/places, how they got started, important life events, and any other important information. You must also research one song by your artist that you want the class to listen to and give information about when it was written, first recorded, style of music, what it is about, and any other information you wish to include. On the back is a list of composers/artists you may choose from. If you want to choose an artist not on this list, you must clear it with Ms. G. first.
**We will take time on Wednesday 12/3 to meet and discuss which project you wish to choose. Two people may not choose the same artist and each student must hand in their own project.**
Your project will be graded on the following criteria:
