Welcome to 7th Grade!

Hi!! My name is Mrs. Maher and I will be your teacher this year.  I grew up in Fishkill, NY and went to school through the WCSD.  After graduating from Marist College with my bachelors and masters degrees, I began teaching in the WCSD.  This will be my 17th year teaching Special Education.  I enjoy teaching children and watching them learn and understand.  It inspires me to work with children and families to help a child develop and reach goals that they didn't think were possible.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and my four year old son. We recently moved and we have been busy settling into our new home.  We like to travel, go to baseball games, and my son LOVES Sesame Place!!  When I have free time I love to read.  I read to my son everyday!  We have a fish that my son named Mickey Mouse. 

I think that everyone is an individual and can offer special skills and talents to our classroom.  We will have many opportunities this year to learn from one another and grow with each other.  I ask that we practice kindness everyday in our classroom, in addition to working together and doing our best.  I am excited for a wonderful school year!  Be kind to one another :)
