John Jay Girls’ Swim Team

Reminder: This is a varsity sport and ALL practices are mandatory. The 2019 swim season will begin August 19th. Please plan accordingly.

Swimmers are expected to arrive to preseason in workout clothes and sneakers for dry land practice 8:30-8:55. Swimmers should be ready to enter the water at the designated practice start time (9am during preseason). Please plan accordingly.

2019 Pre-Season practice schedule at Mount St. Mary College:

Monday, August 19- 8:30-11:00 am

Tuesday, August 20- 8:30-11:00 am

Wednesday, August 21- 8:30-11:00 am

Thursday, August 22- 8:30-11:00 am

Friday, August 23- 8:30-11:00 am

Monday, August 26- 8:30-11:00 am

Tuesday, August 27- 8:30-11:00 am

Wednesday, August 28- 8:30-11:00 am

Thursday, August 29- 8:30-11:00 am

Friday, August 30- 8:30-11:00 am

Monday, September 2- No Practice

Tuesday, September 3- 3:00-4:30 pm

Wednesday, September 4- 3:00-4:30 pm

Thursday, September 5 is the first day of school.  Bus transportation begins and we continue our traditional practice time of 3:00-4:30. Pick up at JJ around 2:30 drop off around 5:15pm.

Family ID

If you get your sports physical though an outside physician (your personal doctor), you may submit your physical NOW! If you plan don using a physical that is more than 30 days old, you will also need to complete the 30 day health history form which is attached below.

Sports physicals can also be done at Health Quest at no cost. Tell the receptionist you need a sports physical for WCSD. Please make sure you log-on to Family ID after July 20th and register for swim. There will be two steps to the process, both accessible from the Wappinger’s Athletics page. Please make sure you complete both portions! You cannot be approved to tryout without doing so!!

There will be an informational meeting for all girls interested in trying out for the JJ Girls Varsity Swim Team Fall 2019. Parents and swimmers are encouraged to attend! Meeting should be approximately 30 minutes.
