• RCK WRESTLING WINS BEACON TOURNAMENT

    Congratulations to the wrestling team for winning the Beacon Wrestling Tournament the weekend of Jan. 21-22. Eddy Corporan and Matt Masch were both individual champions. The highlight was Eddy pinning the #1 ranked undefeated wrestler in Section 9 from Washingtonville High School in the championship match. Jonah Usher placed 3rd, Steven Suter placed 2nd, Angelo Battista placed 3rd, Mike Ricci placed 2nd, Asher Slaughter placed 3rd. Matt Masch was also voted the Most Outstanding Wrestling of the entire tournament. This is his 4th MOW award this year.

     

     

     


     

    Ketcham Varsity Cheer placed second at Dover High School's Dragon's Den Competition on Jan. 15. Members of the squad also placed in the top 3 of the longest-held lib competition - Karissa Peters, Angelina Buonato, Peyton Mikelic, Aarysa Moore and Jocelyn Powell.


    Matt Masch placed 5th at the Eastern States Classic Tournament on Jan. 14. Many consider this tournament even harder than states and Matt faced strong opponents. He had a huge victory over the #1 ranked wrestler in New York State (D2). In the quarterfinals, his match was tied 6-6 with :13 left when Matt got a takedown to win. He was defeated in the semi-finals by the two-time Rhode Island state finalist and 2020 Rhode Island state champion.  Matt had the highest finish of any Section 1 Wrestler.

    Track & Field at Suffern Invitational

    The Ropes Report: Another meet and another record for Connor Hitt. He has laid his assault on the record books for the third consecutive meet in a week. This time it was the 3200 meter run. Connor won the event at the Suffern Invitational at Rockland Community College bettering the previous mark by over 5 seconds. Also winning was Abby Kowalczyk in the  3000 meter run. Hailey Hrouda rounded out the medal winners by finishing third in the shot put with a new personal best. Many others also achieved personal records. Great night athletes! - Coach Charles Ropes


    Congratulations to Matt Masch for winning the Mid-Hudson Wrestling Tournament in December. Matt was the only Dutchess County champion to win the tournament. He had an 8-0 record over the two-day event that included 24 teams from Section 1, Section 9, Catholic/Private schools, NYC, CT and Long Island.

    Congratulations to our seniors on Wappingers Volleyball. This was the first year for a boys volleyball team in our school district and their hard work and determination was proven on the court!

    Congratulations to Ryan Zindler who was named Athlete of the Week by the Poughkeepsie Journal for the week of Oct. 3 to Oct. 9  The junior did all the scoring against Spring Valley on October 7. He scored a career-high SIX goals to lead Ketcham in a 6-1 win.   


    Congratulations to our Field Hockey team Seniors! Senior Night was held October 3rd in honor of Class of '23 Seniors Alyssa Butler, Ava Gambichler, Hailey Hrouda and Sabrina Vilato. We are so proud of you!

    Abigail Mathews, Ketcham swimming

    The senior won the 200-yard individual medley (2:46.13) and the 500 freestyle (6:38.35) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay as Ketcham defeated Port Chester on September 30,

     


    Congratulations to Abby Kowalczyk (c) and Connor Hitt (r) for placing first and second in their respective races at the Wave-Mania Cross Country Invitational in Warwick on Sept 10. Also medalling was Eddy Corporan (l). In addition to their success, every athlete showed substantial improvement over last year's times.Great job by all!
