    Dear Parents and Guardians,

Last week marked the official beginning of four day in-person instruction for most, if not all,  children whose parents requested it for the 3rd quarter. We strategically placed desk barriers in spaces where necessary to maintain the required social distancing. The District is planning to send home another survey for the 4th quarter sometime this week to assess your preference for remote or hybrid instruction.

The re-opening to four day in-person instruction last week went well. Our children were excited to see their friends and teachers and return to a sense of normalcy. They followed all safety precautions required, such as wearing masks, social distancing, proper hygiene, and directionality. We shared another reopening video with students that stressed the importance of health and safety.

Lifetouch concluded picture-taking last Wednesday. While the school facilitated picture-taking, we have no control over the function of processing and, therefore, it is best to discuss your questions with Lifetouch. Their customer service phone number is 1-800-736-4753. For any additional questions, please contact Mrs. Van Tassell. She will know how best to answer or direct your question.

We plan to allow our children to spend recess outdoors as the ground thaws and weather permits. This is an option for those children who prefer the outdoors rather than sit in the cafeteria. In order for children to go outside they should be seasonally dressed with a light jacket or sweater to keep warm.

Please remember to complete the exSCRN each morning before sending your children to school. If your children have any one or more of the 14 COVID symptoms, they should NOT come to school and, instead, learn remotely. The safety precautions we put in place today ensures the continuity of in-person instruction tomorrow.

Friday, March 19, is Superintendent's Conference Day. There is no formal instruction for students.

    Tomorrow is Day 3.

    Have a wonderful week.

    Sincerely yours,

    Dr. Steven H. Shuchat, Principal
