• Wondering what we're about?

I can't blame you. In modern times it seems a lot easier to figure out what Christians are against, rather than what they're for. Here's what you need to know.

    1. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1 NLT

God created everyone and everything with a purpose. When God first made the world, everything was good. You may have heard the story about how He created all the plants and animals and Adam and Eve (the first two humans). The same God who made them is the one who made planets, angels, and atoms.

    2. "When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam's sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned." Romans 5:12 NLT

God gave Adam and Eve free will because He loved them. He wanted them to be able to choose to love Him, and they did. God only gave Adam and Eve one rule; they couldn't eat from one certain tree, or they would die. But when Satan, a fallen angel, tempted them to do their own thing, they listened, instead of trusting that God's way was the best way. Disobeying God was the first sin ever committed, and it separated humanity from God. Adam and Eve would eventually die, just like God had warned. Death wasn't part of God's plan, but because Adam and Eve sinned, they died, and everyone else after them would die too. We're all born with the temptation to sin already in us.

    3. "Here it is in a nutshell: Just as one person did it wrong and got us in all this trouble with sin and death, another Person did right and got us out of it. But more than just getting us out of trouble, He got us into life!" Romans 5:18 MSG

Jesus is God's Son. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit have always been together, and They all wanted to get rid of the sin that was separating Them from us. So Jesus gave up His divinity, and His closeness to God the Father, to come down to Earth in a human body with human limitations and save us. He lived a perfect life on Earth, and took all the punishment for all the sin that has ever, and would ever, exist. When He died on the cross, He took the punishment that we all deserved. He endured death, and He endured complete separation from God, so that we wouldn't have to. When He rose from the dead, it was proof that death will no longer have any power over us and our sins are forgiven by God.

    4. "But if we confess our sins to God, He can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away." 1 John 1:9 CEVUK

So how do we get God's forgiveness? Well, He gives it away for free! Because Jesus took our punishment, God offers forgiveness to everyone who admits that they sinned and that they need God. When someone chooses to become a Christian and follow God, they're saying that His way is better and that they'll try to live that way from now on. God doesn't expect us to be perfect. The Holy Spirit comes and lives inside you, to help you do the right thing and guide your steps. And God will forgive us every time we mess up. Being a Christian doesn't mean that you work really hard to make yourself better; it means that you allow God to start making you better, and you let Him save you. Jesus's death and ressurection mean we never have to be separated from God again, and when our bodies die, our souls will go to be with God in heaven.

    5. "Sing to the Lord, and praise Him! Proclaim every day the good news that He has saved us." Psalm 96:2 GNT

As Christians, we believe that Jesus is going to come back to Earth someday and make everything right. Until then, we spread the Good News that God has saved us! If you want to be saved, all you have to do is ask Him. Not everyone will want to believe our message, but it's important that we tell everyone we can about Jesus and all that He's done, so everyone has the oppurtunity to live with Him forever...in a perfect world. There will be no more COVID, no other sicknesses, and no sadness, death, or pain. ALL these things will be gone FOREVER. This is our hope.

Jesus loves you and wants to be your friend, if you will let Him. If you give Him a chance, your life will never be the same again.
