    Standards Based Grading:

    Student learning will be assessed/evaluated according to:

    • Teacher observations

    • Informal assessments (conference notes, running records, I-Ready diagnostic tests)

    • Completion and quality of class work 

    • Class and cooperative group participation 

    • Test results included:

    • Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Reading Assessment 

    • Writing Benchmarks       

    • Completion and quality of homework assignments 

    • Completion of special projects

    All tests and quizzes will be graded on a 4,3,2,1 scale.  Please see the proficiency scale below for an explanation of this grading process.  All tests and quizzes will have questions that are level 2, 3 and 4.  

    4.0- In addition to a score of 3.0 performance, the student demonstrates in-depth inferences and applications that go beyond what was taught.

    3.0- Complete success at 3.0 level content

    2.0- Complete success at 2.0 level content

    1.0- With help, partial success at 2.0 level content and 3.0 level content
