My name is Laura Kearney. I grew up in Poughkeepsie New York, and went to Oak Grove and RCK! I went to Keuka College and majored in General Education, Special Education and American Sign Language (ASL). I went to Gallaudet University and got my Masters degree in Deaf Education.  After I graduated I moved to Colorado and taught Deaf Education in the Aurora Public Schools for four years. I moved back "home" and continued to teach Deaf Education at Dutchess BOCES for seven years. Four years ago, I switched to Special Education at Oak Grove and I LOVE it!  I have a son, Landon, who will be starting 9th grade this year!  I love watching him play soccer and basketball!  I have an autistic brother, who is my world, he is the reason I wanted to become a special education teacher! He has taught me everything that is important in this world! Thank you for sharing your child with me this year, I am VERY excited to be their teacher!!!
