I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Elementary Education and received my Master's degree in Reading from Mercy College. I started my teaching career in Arizona where I taught second grade. I then moved to New York and taught Kindergarten for seven years. I then missed having the students all day so I asked to move up to first grade where I spent four happy years. Then our district adopted full day kindergarten and I asked to move back to kindergarten where I spent 3 fun years. When I changed schools I had the opportunity to spend a year teaching first grade but have now returned to my first love, kindergarten. I believe in a positive and safe classroom environment. I strive to create a classroom climate in which your child feels comfortable enough to take chances in. In addition to learning the curriculum my goal is to help your child become a well rounded, kind, and polite person.
When I am not at school, I enjoy relaxing with my husband and children, going to Lake George, boating, snowmobiling, hanging out with my family, and playing with my German Sheperds.
Most importantly, I am looking forward to a fantastic year with your child!
