• Grading Policy


    The district uses a Standards-based report card. Standards-based refers to systems of instruction, assessment, grading, and academic reporting that are based on students demonstrating understanding or mastery of the knowledge and skills they are expected to learn as they progress through their education.


    I use the following scale.


    4 - Meets the Standard with Distinction

    3 - Meets the Standard

    2 - Developing the Skills to Meet the Standard

    1 - Does Not Meet the Standard


    All of the summative assessments of standards that your child takes will be considered when calculating grades for report cards.


    Formative assessments will be used for day to day assessment of progress made, but will not be included in the student grade calculation for the report card. 


    Homework, effort, and participation will not be included in the grading, but comments will be made regarding these areas as needed.
