FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
1. Will I have homework on Fridays?
2. How will I know how my child is doing?
3. Does Mr. LaSusa bite, or is he mean?
1. Will I have homework on Fridays?
No. All of our writing will be done in class. I may ask you to do something here and there at home, but most everything will be done in class. I expect that, while I hope you are reading and studying for your other subjects, you are spending quality time with your family and friends in the evenings and on the weekends.
2. How will I know how my child is doing?
While not many things will come home from my writing class, I will be happy to have you check in with me (easiest via email) for progress at ANY TIME in the year you would like. Additionally, you will also receive a formal, quarterly report card letting you know of your child's progress. I feel this plan of open dialogue, and periodic progress checks, keeps parents informed so that there aren't any surprises, and concerns can be addressed quickly and effectively.
3. Does Mr. LaSusa bite, or is he mean?Well, hmmmpf. That's a tricky one. What do you mean by "bite" or "mean?"Ha-ha, just teasing. No, I do not bite (well, only my food), however, I do NOT like when people are "mean" or "unkind" or "impolite"...so with that being said, I am VERY protective of my students, and ANY students who may have had someone bother them or act inappropriate towards them. I expect ALL students to act as respectful, responsible, helpful, and kind individuals who look forward to having fun while learning...BULLYING IS NOT TOLERATED!So, am I mean? Nah, I just care about my kids. ;)
