    About the teacher:

    Hey Everyone!

My name is Mr. LaSusa and I love my work!  This year, 2019-2020, is my 26th year teaching overall and my 24th year at Brinckerhoff, and I truly enjoy working with children!  After 19 years of teaching 5th grade, and 4 years of teaching 6th grade, I am excited for my new journey teaching 4th grade!  I was looking for a change, and I truly feel fortunate with the one I chose!

I am married to an amazing, and beautiful, 2nd grade teacher and we have 2 incredible children. My daughter, Hannah, has started her junior year at F.I.T. in New York City and is studying fashion design and business marketing. She also works at Lamb's Hill Bridal in Beacon, NY.  My life-long, tennis playing son, Christopher, will play his 4th season for the Arlington High School Varsity team, as a junior and second year captain, and enjoys being a camp counselor at Taconic Sport & Racquet during the summers. Additionally, I have an Old English Sheepdog named Trophy, who will turn 3 at the end of September.

In addition to teaching, I coached the Boys and Girls Varsity Tennis Teams for Roy C. Ketcham High School, for 14 years.  I have been playing tennis since I was 6 years old, played 6 years of high school tennis, 4 years of scholarship level, collegiate tennis, and still currently play, as much as I can.  I am also a HUGE Dallas Cowboys football fan!

I believe that you should enjoy what you are doing, as much as possible, work hard, and never give up, in order to obtain optimal results.  Additionally, the ability and willingness to laugh is very important to us all and makes learning fun!

Whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability, be respectful, ALWAYS be kind, make good decisions, and don't forget to smile! Happiness is a choice, so choose well. :)  And remember...it's the perfect "effort" that is most important, and not just the perfect "result."

I am always here to help!

         Thanks for visiting!
