¨Fixed Mindset vs. Growth Mindset
In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like intelligence, are simply fixed traits. They don’t spend their time developing them and believe that talent creates success. They’re wrong.
When students and educators have a growth mindset, they understand that intelligence can be developed. They work harder to learn and improve in order to get smarter.
¨Praise is important, but must be used correctly. Don’t praise their intelligence or ability. Do praise their effort, process, determination, focus or improvement.Use the power of “Yet”
Give kids a path to the future. You can’t do this…yet.
When we are out of our comfort zone learning something new, neurons in our brain form stronger connections-actually making us smarter over time.
