K - 6 Art
Dear J. S. Evans Artists and Families! April 1, 2020
I hope you and your family are doing well! While things may seem a little stressful and new, I want you to assure you that we will figure this out together. It is my goal to get you the information you need to be successful and to help you navigate what our learning will look like together.
As we begin our learning this way, here is some important information you will need to keep handy:
Website information you need is here: https://www.wappingersschools.org/Domain/189
Materials you need are: Use simple items you find around you...pencil, crayons, pens, markers, copy paper, maybe you have a sketchbook of your own or anything to make your art on. It does not have to be a big piece of paper either...size is up to you. I will try not to overwhelm you at all.
The best way to reach me is by : email@example.com
If you want to share photos of your work, I am creating online galleries by grade level. Add your name on your work on the front with your first name only please. I would love to see your work and share it with your classes like we do in the hallways!
Office Hours: Monday through Friday from 8am to 9am. This means I will be available to answer any questions you have in person/ by email/ on a hang out. Please understand that I will answer all emails as soon as I can. I do have 2 children who also have schoolwork to do and only one computer and will try to do my best!!
Past Projects: This one is breaking my heart because we have started some of our favorite projects to get ready for Festival of the Arts (currently on HOLD) like 5th grade clay food, 6th grade Modern Day Sarcophagi, and 4th grade weaving! We WILL get back to what we started when I see you again!
Other important information: Don’t stress out about these assignments. I am doing reviews of past artists and cultures and small projects that you can do anytime during the week. We all have other people in our households that need the computer for school and work too and I understand this!
On my page/classroom you will see: Please check in your child's Art Google Classroom for all assignments for the duration of the 2019-2020 school year. There is an assignment for them to complete and then TURN IN a photo of their artwork that goes into their Art Portfolio in the Art Google Classroom. Any questions, please email me! Thank you!
There are still a lot of questions we all have, including grades and what the rest of the year might look like. Don’t worry, I will share any information we get with you as soon as it becomes available. For now, be well! I miss seeing you all at school and making ART in the Art Room!!
Hello Evans Eagle Artists!
In this event of closure, I have included here a few websites and Blogs where you can find some wonderful Art projects to do at home. I am not expecting you to have all the supplies that may be listed and definitely not encouraging you to go out and buy anything (please don't!), but you can modify these to do them with simple copy paper, the back of another paper, or even on a piece of cardboard or back of a cereal box! Be CREATIVE! These projects can simply be done with things you have at home....pencil, pen, crayons, etc. Perhaps you like to make collages from old magazines (ask your parents first!) or build things with some recycled materials. I would just love for you to practice ART in whatever way you like to even if it just sketching things around the house!
I am not expecting everyone to have these projects come in completed whatsoever....these are here for you to practice your art at home while we cannot be in the Art Room. Email your work to me to share in an online gallery! Can't wait to see them!CHECK OUT LUNCH DOODLE'S WITH MO WILLEMS!
Art for Kids Hub....absolutely wonderful short drawing videos for all ages. One of my favorite!
This is a great site with lessons for younger students and easily adaptable!
