Dear Families,

 

     I am very pleased to announce the beginning of our special Home to School Letters. Each week your child will be writing to you in their homework notebook. Your child's letter will be about the events and happenings from his/her week at school. Please talk to your child about his/her letter and ask him/her to tell you about it. Then, over the weekend, you write a short message on the back of the letter, for your child to read to us in class. Your note should be in response to your child’s letter. You can also feel free to include a few things that you enjoyed as a family that past week.

     Please be patient with your child's writing skills. The message we want to send to the children is that what they write is important. As the year progresses, you will see changes toward more conventional spelling with improved punctuation.

     Please return the homework notebook to school each Monday. Our finished product will be a meaningful way to record your child's growth throughout 2nd grade.

     We hope that you enjoy creating this memorable keepsake together!
