I am so happy to be starting this year with you! This will be a year like no other and I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!! I want you to know, we are going to get through this year together and the best we can! We are going to have fun, learn a lot, and create memories to last a lifetime!!!!
A little about myself....I grew up in Pleasant Valley with my mom, my dad and my sister. Both of my parents were teachers (my mother was a 2nd grade in Wappingers and my father, taught Social Studies in Mahopac at the high school level). Having them as my role models helped to create my love for teaching!! I attended school in the Arlington School District. I then moved on to college at SUNY Potsdam and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in both Elementary Education and Psychology in 2000. After graduating, I began substituting in the Wappingers school district and working on my Masters Degree at Western Connecticut State University, which I completed in 2004. This year will be my 20th year teaching here at Sheafe Road Elementary School! I spent 14 years teaching first grade and this will be my 7th year teaching third grade:) My family is so very important to me!! I am married to Mr. Panesa, a 1st grade teacher at Fishkill Plains Elementary School, also in the Wappingers School District!!! We have two wonderful children, a dog, and a cat at home. Our daughter, Peyton, will be 10 years old in November and will be in 5th grade this year! Our son, Travis, will be 9 years old in December and will be in 3rd grade! I love being a teacher and am so excited to share in building wonderful memories and meaningful learning with all my students this year!!!
