• Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year and the Kinry Road Library Learning Lab!

I want to make sure everyone is happy with their child's library experience. Our library has many excellent choices from which our students can choose. The books in the collection are selected per the WCSD Board Policy 4513 - Library Materials Selection.

With that said, we are all different and have different beliefs and preferences, and our library has choices to serve a large population and age range. All of our books are rated appropriate for our elementary students, but that doesn't mean all are in line with your particular belief system or parenting preference (i.e., fantasy, holidays, death of loved ones/pets, war); for this reason, I urge you to review your child's choices each week to ensure you are comfortable with the books they choose. If they have selected a book you are uncomfortable with, have them bring it back the next morning, and I will happily let them pick another book.

Thank you for your support. It is critical for students in this age group to make their own choices, but I want to respect your parenting choices as well. Together, we will have a great year of reading, learning, and growth!
