Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in Central New York and moved to the Hudson Valley to attend college. From when I was a little girl I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, although for a short while I explored some other areas, like working in banking and in the fashion industry! I am now beginning my 17th year teaching elementary school! I am a graduate of Marist College and I also earned a Master of Science Degree in Students with Disabilities and General Education from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry. In addition, I recently earned an advanced literacy degree and I am certified in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Literacy.
I began my teaching career with the NYC Department of Education, Bronx. I spent six years in the Bronx and had an invaluable experience working in an inner city school with a diverse group of students. I am beginning my 11th year at Kinry Rd. and I am excited to be working with the AIS department, as the new Reading Specialist! I love working with children, enjoy teaching, and I am grateful to work at such a wonderful school!
Outside of school, I spend most of my time with my daughter Olivia, my son Joseph and my youngest daughter, Emme. During the summer months I like to spend time upstate, in my hometown, visiting friends in The Hamptons, and vacationing on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland! In my spare time I love to cook, bake, and read. Some of my other favorite things are, the color pink, lemons, the Dave Mathews Band, tea, giraffes, ballet, being near the ocean, and traveling!
