The Wappingers Central School District Office of Fine & Performing Arts and Foreign Language is pleased to announce that it recently awarded music scholarships to two deserving students. The Harvey S. Lederstein Scholarship was awarded to Hailey Shepheard for her American Music Abroad summer music program. The Donald L. Lockwood Scholarship was awarded to Megan Gallucci for her pursuit of a Music Education degree at the College of St. Rose. These music scholarships are awarded annually to students who have demonstrated qualities that were valued by Harvey S. Lederstein and Donald L. Lockwood: loyalty, responsibility, dependability, and dedication to their school music program. “We are very pleased to be able to reward Megan and Hailey for their dedication and hard work over their years in the music program,” said Lori Orestano-James, Director of Fine & Performing Arts and Foreign Language. “They have both enhanced the ensembles they’ve participated in.”
The mission of the Wappingers Central School District is to empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.
