Former Wappingers Crew Club Member Qualifies for the U23 Team

Kyle Mabry, a former member of the Wappingers Crew Club and John Jay graduate, qualified as a sculler for the U23 team representing the USA at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Bulgaria this summer. He trained with the Wappingers Crew Team in the winter during his high school years, sculled for John Jay and also the Hudson River Rowing Association.  He went on to row at Boston University.  Making the World Championship is an amazing accomplishment.

A big HOORAA to our very own Kyle Mabry for earning the right to represent the United States at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria later this summer.

Kyle secured the opportunity to compete on the World stage by winning the qualifying event at the U23 Worlds Trials held at Mercer Lake last week. Affectionately known as Zippy around the HRRA Boathouse, he took the top spot with a huge 12 second lead in the U23 Men's single category.
Kyle has rowed with HRRA since he moved to the area and we have had the pleasure of watching him grow as an athlete over the many years.
If you would like to make a donation to help Kyle finance his trip to Plovdiv, Bulgaria from the 14th to the 24th to represent the US, donations can be made through his National Rowing Foundation Rally page:
