Congratulations to 2014 John Jay Graduate Ryan Smith!
As an Industrial Design major, Ryan is a monitor in the metal shop and the CAD lab and was recently promoted to head monitor of the CAD lab so he will be the student-in-charge of hiring, scheduling, maintaining and upgrading the systems. He was also just promoted to team leader for next years Mars Rover team which creates specs outlined by NASA every year, designs and constructs from scratch a man powered rover that is raced on an obstacle course at the NASA campus in Alabama.
He was given the choice for an internship this summer between working for a design subcontractor of Tesla or working for NASA at Johnson Space Center in their Mars spaceflight and planet habitat program. Ryan chose NASA!
