Printmaking Projects to be Exhibited at Festival of the Arts
Fifth-grade students at Brinckerhoff Elementary School have been working on printmaking projects in art class that will be exhibited at the Festival of the Arts. Inspired by the Pop Art Movement and Artist Andy Warhol, students designed images focused on popular fashion and shoes. Their printmaking projects involved the use of multiple repeated images in a variety of printmaking inks and bright color combinations. Their prints will be displayed, along with artwork from all schools in the Wappingers Central School District, at the upcoming 67th Annual Festival of the Arts. The Festival will be held on Saturday, May 13, in Mesier Park in Wappingers Falls from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The inclement weather date is Sunday, May 14. The Festival of the Arts is presented by the Wappingers Central School District’s Fine & Performing Arts Department and is free to the public.
The mission of the Wappingers Central School District is to empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.
