Positivity Project

This week, our school community will focus on Perspective. Perspective means understanding and appreciating different points of view.  Here is a link to the parent letter explaining this trait and to the P2 page for you to use and check out.

Kindergarten Registration

It’s the time of year when we begin welcoming our newest Myers Tigers. If you have a child who will turn 5 years old on or before December 1st, it is time to register them for kindergarten. Please contact Mrs. Duffy in the main office to start the registration process. She can be reached at helen.duffy@wcsdny.org or 845-298-5260 x 16003. More information is also available on our website

Save the Date: Drama Show

We are excited to remind you that our 6th graders will be presenting Frozen Jr. in their upcoming Drama Show! This fantastic performance will take place on March 26th and 27th at 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria.

Tickets are just $5 at the door, and all proceeds will support our students' future performances and activities. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to see our talented students bring the magic of Frozen to life.

Science Fair at John Jay

We are thrilled to announce that our students Emilia and Skylar have earned First Place in the Group Project category at the John Jay Science Fair!  We are also incredibly proud of our students Carter A. (3rd place), Dylan M. (2nd place) and Kavin D (1st place) in their Individual Project success! Keep up the amazing work, and let this victory be a stepping stone towards even greater accomplishments!

Library

Students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades read After the Fall by Dan Santat and learned what happened after Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall. Then they built “walls” out of Keva Planks and figured out how to stand a plastic egg on top!

Grade 4

4th grade enjoyed attending the Book Fair this week! We also were so excited to showcase all of the hard work we have been completing this quarter at Open House!

Grade 3

Third grade had fun visiting the bookfair this week. We also finished up our reading unit on Character Studies. The students were busy finishing up all of their open house projects. They were very excited to display their wonderful work for their families to see.

Grade 2

Miss Hoff’s class held a nonfiction museum to present their nonfiction i-Movies to the first graders about the topics of their independent reading books.

2nd Grade had a fun Dr. Seuss Day. Based on Oh, The Places You’ll Go, the students dreamed and wrote about places they wanted to travel to, adventures they wanted to take and what they wanted to be when they grow up. Based on Bartholomew and the Oobleck, the students did an “Oobleck” science experiment that showed them what a non-newtonian fluid was (acts as both liquid and a solid).
