Principal's Update

August 20, 2021

Kinry Families,

I hope that everyone has found time this summer to relax, enjoy time with family and friends, and to do some of the things we have put off for so long due to this lingering pandemic we still endure.

I am very excited to be able to begin this year with all of our Kinry Cougars for a full day every day.

I hope it is obvious to everyone that planning for the safety and health of all our students and staff is the foundation of all we do.  That includes safety drills, covid protocols while they exist, and of course the social emotional health of everyone.  I am very glad to continue our partnership with The Positivity Project which not only gives us a tool to teach into the social and emotional needs of our students but to connect with you, our families, and strengthen the bridge between Kinry and Vassar.

Kinry has gone through quite a few changes over the summer months that I am very pleased to be able to share.  First, we were selected by the district to host one of the 4 Pre-K classes.  Early childhood learning brings so much excitement and energy to a school and I can’t wait for that to become part of Kinry.  I have also been able to work along with District office staff to expand our grade 6 from 3 sections to 4 allowing us to reduce class sizes in that grade level.  This is such a positive for us since we know that the more time a teacher has to spend working with a student means more growth and learning for that student.

In the coming days you will be receiving information about the opening of the school year.  But as always if you have any questions please do not hesitate at all to send and email or give us a call.

Sincerely,

Adam Gerson
