New York State Education Department is in the process of revising and implementing the new ELA (English language arts) and math standards. This process began in the fall when parents and schools were asked to complete a survey on the Learning Standards. Over 64,142 people visited the survey with over 15,000 respondents providing feedback. They received 246,771 points of feedback from 10,532 users.
Below you will find a link to a presentation from the February 2016 Board of Regents meeting detailing the timeline New York State Education Department has established to address changes to the Learning Standards. New York State developed Content Advisory Panels to review the survey data and identify trends. The next step is the development of Standards Review Committees consisting of stakeholders (one for ELA and one for math) to review AIMHighNY results, recommendations, and guidance from Content Advisory Panels and stakeholder groups.
