•  Dear Students and Parents ,

I want to welcome you to our newly invented Speech-Therapy Program where our goal is to preserve the continuity of learning for all students. In these new and unprecedented times, FLEXIBILITY is going to be key to our success!  We will be utilizing google classroom to facilitate speech and language development. All of my students will be receiving an email inviting them to my classroom. The details of how the assignments will be posted will be sent via email.  I will be available via email regularly to respond to questions you may have about the assignments. My email is barbara.okeefe@wcsdny.org   I will be having office hours which will enable us to discuss things in greater detail. There will be more information coming with regards to that on google classroom.

I want you all to know that it’s very important to me that you and your child get what you need to move forward during this unfamiliar time of learning. If you need some support, please reach out to me and I will do my best for you. We are all in this together!!!!! I know we can make it work!!!!

    Sincerely,

    Barbara O’Keefe, MA, CCC-SLP

The mission of the Wappingers Central School District is to empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.

Speech/language services are available to qualifying students in grades K-12.  If you have concerns with your child's speech or language development, you may contact their teacher or contact the school's speech therapist directly to discuss your concerns.  Children who are referred undergo an assessment to determine the best way to address any needs identified.  Services range from consultation with the classroom teacher to direct sessions with the child if indicated.
Students participating in speech/language development program benefit greatly from these services.  The services are provided during the school day at times that are arranged with the child's classroom teacher.   Parents are informed about their child's progress quarterly.

    Speech/Language Mission Statement
We will work to improve our communication skills by becoming   better listeners and speakers. We will understand what our goals are, and will work hard to reach them through class activities and homework.  We will always try our best.  We will treat our classmates with respect and will help them out when they need it.
