I wanted to alert you to some valuable learning resources that are available through the links on my website. You can find various fiction, nonfiction, and STEAM related activities for all K-6 grade levels. Many teachers had posted the online database username and passwords in their Google Classroom. Be sure to check it out!
Besides the online activities, I would also like to encourage sitting and reading with your child(ren). Reading and discussing the characters, the setting, the problem and solution are all important elements that make up fictional stories. If your child prefers nonfiction materials, reviewing vocabulary, reading the captions under the picture, looking at diagrams, using the Glossary to look up the meaning of bold print words are all important skills for gaining information and understanding.
Lastly, I would also like to highlight that if you or your child has a Mid Hudson Library Card, they can access many e-books/audiobooks from the Grinnell Library website.
Tumblebooks is also generously providing free e-book access to students during this distance learning period. Please see my website homepage for access information. There are many great titles on this site.
I hope you find these resources helpful should you need them.
I look forward to seeing your child/ren soon to resume our engaging and fun Library lessons.
Until then, STAY HEALTHY!
