Homework Policy: While we do not take grades for homework it is expected to be completed as it will affect the student's growth in each assessed standard.  In fifth grade we do our best to assign no more than one hour of homework nightly and we also try not to give homework over the weekends/holidays.  However, when there is a project due (i.e. Science Project), we recommend that you plan accordinlgy so that it does not infringe upon your weekend/holiday time.

A little about me: I received my undergraduate degree from Hofstra University.  I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, NY in 2002.  I went on to earn my MA in general and special education in 2005.  In 2006 I moved to Florida with my husband and lived there for 10 years.  While teaching in Florida, I earned a second MA in Educational Leadership.  I also received a FL endorsement for teaching ESOL and 60 credits towards gifted education.  About three years ago, my husband had a great opportunity here in Dutchess County so we moved back to New York.  I was sad to leave Florida, but it was easy for me to fall in love with Dutchess County.

I continued my career in education and started teaching at Oak Grove in March 2017.

I have two young children, a son who is 10 years old and daughter who is 8 years old. Family and community are very important to us.  I love working with children and watching them grow into mature, respectful, and responsible citizens.
