HEALTH OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
COLD AND FLU season are upon us.  Parents please remind your child the importance of hand washing, covering their sneezes and coughs with a tissue or the crook of their elbow and to avoid sharing drinks and food.  It would be helpful if you informed us of any serious illness that your child may develop.  As always, parents, please keep your child home if fever is present at any time until your child is fever free (less than 100 degrees) without the use of anti-fever medication for 24 hours.
    1.   Attention parents of 12th grade students:  New York State mandates that every school aged student be properly immunized in order to attend school.  On October 26, 2015 the NYS Public Health Law Section 2164 was amended to require children entering 12th grade to receive an adequate dose OR doses of vaccine against meningococcal disease.  Please contact your child's health care provider in order to receive further information and arrange for any required immunizations.  Please forward a copy of your child's updated immunization records to the Health Office. The Health Office fax# is 845-298-5055.
    2.   Attention parents of 9th and 11th grade students:  New York State requires all 9th and 11th grade students to have an up to date physical on file in the health office.  The 11th grade physical must include Vision - distance and near vision, and hearing.  If your child has already had his/her physical for the current school year, please send a copy to the nurse as soon as possible.  A dental health certificate is recommended for 9th and 11th grade, but not required.  We provide screenings for vision/hearing/scoliosis if not provided by private MD.
    3.  SPORTS 2019-2020:  WINTER SPORTS 11/11/19, SPRING SPORTS 3/9/20 - Registration for our athletic programs are done by using an online system called FamilyID (www.familyid.com).  Registration for sports will be open 30 days prior to the beginning of the season.  Private physicals must be received by the health office no later than 2 weeks prior to the close of registration to ensure it is reviewed by the school MD and approved in a timely manner.
