• Grading and Measuring Progress

     

    Student learning will be assessed/evaluated according to:

     

    Teacher observations

    Informal assessments (conference notes, running records, I-Ready diagnostic tests)

    Completion and quality of class work 

    Class and cooperative group participation 

    Test results, including: 

    • Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Reading Assessment 
    • Fundations Unit Tests 
    • Writing Benchmarks       
    • Engage New York Math Module Assessments and District Standards Based Unit Assessments
    • Science and Social Studies Unit Tests and quizzes

     ✔ Completion and quality of homework assignments 

     ✔ Completion of special projects

     

    The following key is used on the 2nd grade report card:

    4.0 - Student is Excelling in Grade Level Standards

    3.0 - Student is Proficient in Grade Level Standards

    2.0 - Student is Partially Proficient in Grade Level Standards

    1.0 - Student is Performing Far Below Proficient in Grade Level Standards
