Books to choose from:
Kite Runner by Khaleid Hosseini
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson
Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon

We will discuss these texts in relation to other similar literature that we will read over the course of the year. Please come to class ready to discuss your chosen book as the story of a character’s “coming of age.”
You are welcome to read as many books as you like from the above list. Please enjoy your summer and happy reading!
