    Orientation to Library:

There are 3 areas in the library for students:
Primary (K-2), Intermediate (3-6), BR (beginning reader chapter books).

K students check out and return a book with their class.  They are given a "library bag" to keep their books safe for the year. If the "library bag" is lost or damaged, it should be replaced with another sturdy plastic bag.

1st and 2nd grades may come during open library times to return and check out a book daily.

3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades may come every day during open library to return and check out 2 books.

If students have an overdue book or one that is lost or damaged, they may not check out other books until that item has been returned or compensated for.

Overdue book lists are given to classroom teachers or students weekly.  A bill is sent home for books that are 2 months overdue so that parents are aware of that fact and can help the student find the book. Sometimes books are returned to the public library by mistake.  Our online catalog provides a color picture of the cover of most books.
