A Message from Superintendent, Dr. Dwight Bonk
Email at Dwight.Bonk@wcsdny.org
At Wappingers CSD our primary commitment is to the students and families we serve. In response to the NYS Governor's Orders, the District has updated (10/26/2020) our NYS Assurance Certified School Re-Opening Plan. This plan aligns with the requirements assigned to us by the State of New York.
The following documents are extensions of our plan:
The following documents have been provided by the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral and Community Health
In the coming days we will further define clear guidance for the reopening of our 15 schools, and for the attendance of our 11,300+ students. This document aligns with the regulations developed in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and guidance established by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
In addition, WCSD has worked to develop this site to make it easier for our families to access resources and information as our School Reentry Planning continues for the Fall of 2020. We understand there are many questions that remain unanswered. We ask for your patience and understanding during these difficult times. Our priority is the health and safety of our students. More information will follow as we plan for the Re-Opening of school for the fall.

How does my child maintain confidentiality of online lessons and services?
Maintaining Confidentiality with Online Lessons and Services
The District expects that neither parents nor students will intentionally breach the confidentiality of any service that is delivered online. For example, online lessons or Google Meet sessions conducted by teachers cannot be rebroadcast for any reason without the teacher’s knowledge and/or permission. This also applies to taking screenshots or making recordings of online conferences, meetings, or services. If a parent or student intentionally breaches confidentiality, this could be a basis for disciplinary action. We have a responsibility and obligation to respectfully share this with you since this has become the ‘new temporary normal’ for public education. We would like to remind parents and students that the District Code of Conduct, Technology Acceptable Use Policy, and all other relevant District policies and procedures will still apply in this environment. -
