Fourteen John Jay students were chosen to submit their artwork to Gallery 66 in Cold Spring, NY, in response to their open call to all high-school-age artists in six surrounding counties. The gallery was soliciting work for a juried art exhibition with the theme “Story Tellers, Fables, and Fiction.” Students were asked to tell a story through their artwork or their story of the inspiration of art. The result was a trove of rich and diverse pieces that will be a pleasure for visitors to view while providing a rare opportunity for these young artists to exhibit their work in a major Hudson Valley gallery.
The John Jay artists who were selected to participate are: Olivia Casabianca, Jennie Consalvo, Katherine Gerathy, Morgan Heinemann, Maggie Linseth, Amanda Martin, Eleni Neckles, Victoria Powlis, Maggie Reilly, Samantha Soriano, Christine Stangl, Haley Todd, Charlotte Whittle, and Claire Wu. They are to be commended, as well as their art teachers Bonnie Bogumil, Robyn Talbot-Howard, and Rebecca Zilinski.
The exhibit will be on display at Gallery 66, located at 66 Main Street in Cold Spring, from January 6 through January 29. Regular winter hours are Noon to 5:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday. For more information, go to www.gallery66ny.com.
