The Second Language Department of the Wappingers Central School District offers students the opportunity to begin the study a foreign language in the junior high school. During high school, students continue their study of a second language, selecting from
French, Italian, or Spanish.
The goal of our program is to develop well-rounded language abilities, which include speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the target language -- all of which will prepare students for the multicultural / multilingual society in which we live. We offer levels one through Advanced placement. Students have the opportunity to participate in clubs, honor societies, and festivals.
