The final meeting for the PTSA for the 2010 school year will be held on May 19 at 7:00 in the Large Group Instruction Room. The following nominees will be voted on for the 2010-2011 school year.

ABOUT JOHN JAY PTSA
The John Jay High School PTSA will be holding its April meeting prior to this presentation. That will take place in the large group instruction at 6:45pm. This meeting will be short to accommodate the superintendent’s presentation. Nominations for the 2010-2011 officers will be voted on at this meeting. 2009-2010 JJHS PTSA members may cast their votes for these candidates. All community members are welcome to attend.
In April of 2008, John Jay High School received its charter as a unit of the New York State Branch of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers. The founding members elected to do business as a PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association); a choice that is open to secondary schools.
The John Jay High School PTSA is entering it's second year in operation. We are still a fledgling organization and need the time, talent and resources of our entire community to build a solid foundation. Building level PTA organizations have sound support at the local level (WCSD PTA Council), the regional level (Taconic PTA), the state level (New York State PTA and the national level (The National PTA). The strength of building PTA’s derives from its membership. JJHS PTSA has supported the following building level initiatives: The Spanish Honor Society, Rachel’s Challenge, School Beautification, Peer Mentoring, Prevention Initiatives, Educational Forums, 9th Grade Orientation, Senior Awards Ceremony and Graduation.
